Nystatin USP 100’000 units / 500’000 units

Pharmacological Class

Polyene Antifungal.

Indications:
Oral & Perioral Infection & Intestinal
Candidiasis

Dosage & Administration:

• (Using dropper provided).
• Oral Candidiasis:. 1ml QiD.
• Intestinal Candidiasis: 5ml QiD
• Children & Infants: 1ml QiD
• Tablets: 1 tab QiD – Double Dose in severe Infections
• Children: 100’000 QiD
• Prophylaxis in new born: 1ml QiD

NB: Administration to continue 48 hrs after cure.
Key Feature:

• Nystatin is poorly absorbed from GIT;
• Skin & Mucus Membranes.
• Use in pregnancy: No adverse effects attributed to its use.
• Side Effects: Occasionally: – Diarrhoea,
• GI distress, Nausea & Vomiting,
• Urticaria.
